LTA Takes Liberia’s Digital Agenda to Global Stage at MWC 2026
The Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) has strengthened Liberia’s global digital presence with its participation in the Mobile World Congress 2026 (MWC26) in Barcelona, Spain. Hosted by the GSMA, MWC is the world’s premier gathering of mobile network operators, regulators, technology innovators, and policymakers shaping the future of connectivity. Leading the Liberian delegation are LTA Chairman Hon. Clarence K. Massaquoi and Commissioner Patrick R. Honnah, signaling the country’s commitment to deepening international partnerships and accelerating telecommunications development.
During the congress, the LTA engaged global stakeholders on key national priorities, including expanding broadband infrastructure, deploying next-generation mobile technologies, strengthening cyber-security frameworks, and promoting digital innovation in education, healthcare, and agriculture. The engagements aim to improve service quality, affordability, and nationwide access to telecommunications services. Liberia’s participation also aligns with broader efforts to advance inclusive digital growth. By contributing to global conversations on bridging connectivity gaps, the country is working to narrow the urban-rural digital divide, expand access to online services, empower entrepreneurs, and strengthen public safety systems.
In addition, exposure to international best practices is expected to enhance the LTA’s regulatory capacity, supporting policies that encourage innovation, protect consumers, ensure fair competition, and build investor confidence in Liberia’s telecommunications sector. Through its presence at MWC26, the LTA reaffirmed its commitment to building a modern, resilient, and inclusive digital ecosystem—positioning Liberia to harness technology for economic growth and sustainable national development.
