LTA Highlights Investment Opportunities in Liberia’s Digital Transformation
Monrovia, Liberia — The Chairperson of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA), Mr. Clarence K. Massaquoi, has identified key investment opportunities aimed at accelerating Liberia’s digital transformation and expanding national connectivity. Speaking at the Country Post-War Infrastructure Conference, Mr. Massaquoi outlined priority areas for growth, including public 5G network development, tower infrastructure, value-added services (VAS) aggregation, terrestrial backbone expansion, deployment of the Amílcar Cabral undersea cable, nationwide Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) rollout, and the establishment of a country-specific digital top-level domain. The LTA Chairperson further emphasized opportunities for public-private partnerships and policy incentives designed to attract additional mobile network operators and deepen competition within the telecommunications sector. “LTA continues to champion sustainable investment in support of national development,” Mr. Massaquoi noted.
The LTA Chairperson also highlighted ongoing regulatory reforms that are shaping Liberia’s ICT landscape. These include updates to the licensing framework, the introduction of a Consumer Protection Regulation, enhanced Quality of Service standards, implementation of IMEI regulations, and enforcement of infrastructure-sharing policies—measures aimed at improving service delivery, safeguarding consumers, and promoting fair competition. The LTA is participating in the Liberia Infrastructure Conference, showcasing priority projects such as the Amílcar Cabral undersea cable, FTTH deployment, 5G expansion, and strategic public-private partnerships. Through sustained collaboration and investment, the LTA reaffirms its commitment to building a connected, inclusive, and people-centered Liberia, while advancing economic growth and the nation’s digital future.
