The Liberia Telecommunications Authority on Monday convened members of the Multi-Stakeholder Council (MSAC) to provide updates and gather feedback on the ongoing process to reclaim and redelegate Liberia’s Country Code Top-Level Domain (ccTLD). The initiative, being led by the LTA in collaboration with stakeholders across Liberia’s technology, government, telecommunications, and financial sectors, is progressing with the goal of establishing a reliable and locally managed framework for Liberia’s internet domain.

The proposed technical infrastructure is expected to be hosted at the Cable Consortium of Liberia (CCL) facility on Lynch Street, while day-to-day operations will be managed by a qualified local team or designated professional. The meeting was chaired by Commissioner Angela Cassel Bush, head of the of International Gateway Services and Internet Governance, with ccTLD Consultant Olu Olutola joining virtually. Stakeholders from Government, Civil Society Academia and the Private Sector including Data Technology, welcomed the progress and reaffirmed their support for the process.
