On Friday, March 7, 2025, the women of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) proudly joined women across the country in commemorating International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025.

Although the global observance falls on March 8 each year, this year’s celebration in Liberia was held a day earlier since the official date landed on a Saturday. International Women’s Day is a worldwide event that not only honors the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, but also calls for greater action toward gender equality and solutions to the challenges women continue to face.

The 2025 global theme, “Accelerating Action,” emphasized the urgent need to move beyond awareness and take concrete steps to close the gender gap in all sectors of society. By joining the celebration, LTA women reaffirmed their commitment to advancing progress, amplifying women’s voices, and promoting equal opportunities in Liberia’s telecommunications and digital space.
