President Boakai Commissions LTA Board of Commissioners

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has formally commissioned the new Board of

Commissioners of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA), tasking the leadership with

the responsibility of steering the nation toward greater digital transformation and connectivity.

In his address at the ceremony, President Boakai underscored the critical role of

telecommunications in shaping Liberia’s future, stressing that the digital revolution must be

harnessed to improve lives across the country. “Your work must drive innovation, economic

growth, and opportunities for our young people to thrive in a knowledge-based economy,” he

declared. He urged the board to ensure that modern technology and digital services are extended

beyond the capital to benefit citizens in every community, rural or urban

.

The President also reinforced his administration’s firm stance on transparency and accountability,

warning that corruption would not be tolerated in any form. “Our government maintains zero

tolerance for graft. Any misuse of public resources will be met with the full force of the law.

Those found in violation will be held fully accountable,” he cautioned.

Those commissioned to serve as Commissioners of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority

(LTA) are:

  • Hon. Clarence K. Massaquoi – Commissioner & Chairman,
  • Hon. Ben A. Fofana – Commissioner,
  • Hon. Emmanuel J. Payegar – Commissioner,
  • Hon. Patrick R. Honnah – Commissioner,
  • Hon. Angela Cassell Bush – Commissioner.

President Boakai concluded his remarks by rallying the nation around his well-known slogan:

Let us together Think Liberia, Love Liberia, and Build Liberia.”

The event brought together a wide array of attendees, including senior officials of government,

members of the diplomatic community, family members of the appointees, and representatives of

the media. The ceremony highlighted the administration’s push to strengthen the

telecommunications sector as a pillar for national development, youth empowerment, and

economic diversification.
