LTA Strengthens Liberia’s Digital Safety Agenda at TikTok Safer Internet Summit 2026
Monrovia, Liberia — The Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) is participating in the TikTok Safer Internet Summit 2026 currently underway in Nairobi, Kenya. Organized by TikTok, the summit brings together government representatives, telecommunications regulators, technology leaders, and digital safety experts from across Sub- Saharan Africa to exchange ideas and develop strategies aimed at promoting a safer and more responsible digital ecosystem.
Held under the theme “#SaferTogether: Innovation and Safety,” the event features high level discussions on critical issues shaping the digital landscape. Key topics include responsible artificial intelligence (AI) governance, transparency in AI-generated content, youth protection online, and the need to balance technological innovation with effective regulatory frameworks. The LTA’s participation highlights Liberia’s ongoing commitment to advancing online safety, promoting responsible digital practices, and strengthening regional cooperation in the evolving digital space.
By engaging with policymakers and technology industry leaders at the summit, the LTA seeks to gain valuable insights and best practices that will support Liberia’s efforts to enhance cyber-security, expand digital inclusion, and promote responsible internet governance across the country.
