LGGA Promotes Cybersecurity Awareness with Sweet Treats at LTA Headquarters

Monrovia, Liberia – October 15, 2025

In celebration of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the Liberia Girl Guides Association (LGGA) brought an engaging blend of education and creativity to the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) headquarters today, sharing cookies and brownies adorned with practical cybersecurity tips. The visit opened with an entertaining yet insightful skit performed by LGGA members, illustrating a common online scam and its consequences. The performance effectively captured the audience’s attention, underscoring the importance of digital vigilance and encouraging conversations on safe online practices.

This initiative formed part of LTA’s annual Cybersecurity Month commemoration, spearheaded by the Department of International Gateway Services and Internet Governance, under the leadership of Commissioner Angela Cassell-Bush. The month-long campaign features a series of activities aimed at promoting digital safety, responsible internet use, and cybersecurity awareness across various sectors. Following their performance, the LGGA delegation toured the LTA offices, engaging staff in lively discussions about everyday cybersecurity habits. Each staff member received a cookie or brownie inscribed with a unique safety tip — a creative reminder of the importance of protecting personal and professional data online.

LTA Chairman Clarence K. Massaquoi extended a warm welcome to the LGGA team, commending their innovative approach to public education and community engagement. He reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to supporting the LGGA and other youth organizations in advancing Liberia’s cybersecurity goals. The LGGA’s visit to the LTA exemplifies a successful collaboration between youth advocacy and institutional leadership, highlighting ongoing national efforts to build a resilient and cyber-aware society.
