Professional Experience

Hon. Fofana began his professional career at the Booker Washington Institute (BWI), where he served in several key leadership positions, including Head of the Business Education Department, Chief Accountant, and Business Manager & Comptroller. His work in education and financial administration established a solid foundation for his later contributions to public service and governance. He subsequently served as a two-term Representative in Liberia’s 53rd and 54th National Legislature, representing his constituents with distinction. During his legislative tenure, he held several strategic leadership positions, including:

Hon. Ben A. Fofana currently serves as Commissioner of the Licensing and Regulatory Department at the Liberia Telecommunications Authority, having been appointed by His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. In this role, he provides strategic oversight and leadership for Liberia’s telecommunications regulatory framework, ensuring compliance, promoting sector development, and supporting policies that strengthen the nation’s digital and communications landscape.
